I know I said there would be lots of posts and updates and then there was nothing. Here’s the thing, we’ve been working like dogs but it feels like nothing gets entirely done. In the middle of it all, we’ve started prepping food for the housewarming. Tan of Black and Tan brownies are made, margarita cookie dough set in the freezer and Thai iced tea cupcakes are done. Don’t worry, recipes are coming.
The one thing that were great easy tasks to check off our list is getting things framed and hung. Let’s start with the sentimental pieces.
Our friend Jen made this and gave it to us as part of a wedding present. My sister threw me an Alphabet themed bridal shower where all the guests were assigned a letter and were asked to bring a gift that started with their assigned letter. Jen got Q and bought us a queen size duvet. It didn’t arrive in time so she painted a little book of 5 quirky things that start with the letter Q to give us in it’s place.
A Quaint Quince?
Quail Quints? We framed the pictures and hung it in the area between our bedroom, the closet and the bathroom. It looks good if we do say so ourselves.
This is the Elephant print (obviously) my AWESOME friend Anne took and sent me from Zambia. We had it framed and hung it in the master bathroom. It and a yucca plant really brings the bathroom together.
Remember this print? We ended up putting it at the top of the stairs outside our room. It’s something happy to look at after climbing the mountain of stairs.
This picture doesn’t do this print justice but it really looks great in a frame. I ended up putting it behind the couch in the craft room. Yes, there’s a couch – it’s a long story that I will tell soon.
I didn’t frame this yet but I will. My good friend Katie took it on a recent trip to Tokyo. I love the colors and the fact that it’s just wall of gumball machines. I need to have this printed and framed to put up in the craft room. I have some very talented friends, right?
Micah promises to get a post or two up soon. He’s been working on staining the counter in the master bedroom, painting the table in the entry and hanging various things around the house. I really hope I have a finished craft room to show you tonight but in the mean time, here’s my not-so-interesting teaser…
What is it? It’s the peg board that hangs behind the table in the craft room. it will look better in the big reveal…I promise!
