Sometimes I really am crazy. We ran around all week cleaning, cooking and fixing things and the night before the party I decided we needed to add an art project to our to do list. The area behind our bed is an empty, lonely grey wall. I looked at making a headboard but time ran away from me. We decided to hang some canvases behind the bed to fill in the space and tie the room together so we bought three $20 canvases at Michael's (they are on sale) and it was my job to decide what to paint on them.
A few months ago I had ordered some Frank Lloyd Wright stencils from Prairie Mod. They were having a sale and I got them for $10 each. I used some leftover yellow paint from our wedding and stenciled the design on one of the canvases. I wanted it too look a little messy so I didn’t worry too much about clean lines.
For the second canvas, I decided to use some letterpress blocks I scored a few months back for another project. I think I paid $35 for the entire box. Micah decided to help this time by selecting letters and cleaning off used ones.
The last one I messed up on and tried to cover up with some random shapes. It’s not my favorite but it will do.
Here are the two good ones drying while I work on the not-so-good one.
