So, remember our stool dilemma? We had this:
And it looked like this in our kitchen:
So we took your advice and tried painting them red.
I know, they look a little magenta in the picture, but they are actually a bright red. I think it’s the flash. So, what do you think? We like it enough to not march out and buy a new set. I think it will be one of those things we replace in a few years when we have a little extra money in our pocket or sooner if we see a screaming deal we can’t pass up. That said I probably won’t be actively looking for new stools for a while.
I was thinking of embellishing the stools a little. Maybe painting a pattern on the seat part or sewing some seat cushions to attach to them. We could also put another coat of red on them to make them a little darker. What do you think? Add a little something or leave them alone?

First of all, I just really love your cushion. Maybe if you painted it more of a red tone similar to your Kitchenaid mixer?
LOL typed while still reading -- kitchen, not cushion. Haha
I really like the red stools. I'd let them sink in a bit and then add a design to the top or make a cushion if you're still thinking they need a change.
LOVE them. Can't tell from the photo, but maybe another coat of red or put a high gloss on them. Great job.
Love them! I think maybe another coat of red paint and a solid color (black?) seat cushion might make nice additions.
i dont like them. i think stainless stools would have matched a lot better with the rest of the kitchen.
Maybe add some delicate vine painted detail around the legs, then add a pillow to the top somehow to make a cushion. I'm not a huge fan of red, I might have gone with black or white (to match the counter).
I think they look great :)
