I bought a rug for our reading/guest room. It wasn’t planned. We’ve been trying to focus on the other guest room because it has a bed. We purchased a few things and were gifted/lent a few great things to use in the room with the bed that Sugar provided design inspiration for. Pictures are coming as soon I get back to Seattle. If you haven’t seen Sugar’s suggestions, you should definitely check them out.
Anyway, this is the rug I bought from Anthro for the guest/reading room:
I think it was originally either $198 or $175. I got it for $50. I love this rug!
This is the style board Sugar put together for the room:
I know, it doesn’t exactly go but it’s close and I think I can make it work. I think If I stick to white frames for everything, maybe go with a grey or while futon cover and use the fabrics, the texture pillows and floor cushions as pops of color I can incorporate the rug and still keep the the spirit of the board without changing it too much. I could just find another place for the Malawian fabrics which could work better. You can check out the original post about the guestroom with links to all the products selected here.
What do we think? Can we make the rug work with the style board (with a few small changes) or will a new board built around the rug be required?
