We decided to load ourselves into the car and head out the mountains for an afternoon of snowshoeing on New Year’s Day. We can check our outdoor activity for January off. We feel fortunate that we live in a place that is 1 hour to the mountains and an hour or so to the ocean. We wanted to bring Izzy but the vet told us that we’d need little boots for her. The snow in the northwest can get crunchy and after an hour of walking could cut up her paws. I’m not completely convinced but I’m also not willing to risk it.
On the way to snowshoeing.
I’m always in the back. Bad knees and asthma makes for a not so great combination. But I enjoy the snowshoeing all the same.
I could walk here forever…as long as it’s flat.
Pretty right? We’re hoping to rent a cabin next month and spend an entire snowshoeing with Izzy and friends. Views like this convince me it’s a great idea.
