Happy Friday! I hope everyone has wanted plans for the weekend. I’m excited to meet up with friends, sleep in my own bed, get some house projects done and spend some quiet time with Micah and Izzy.
Speaking of house projects, Micah and I are headed out tomorrow to get some things framed. Remember I mentioned we were working on the guestrooms Sugar designed? Well, here’s a painting we were gifted over the holidays that we feel goes with the color scheme (and sort of the feel) of the other guest room.
A friend of Dadtractor’s is an artist in Sri-Lanka and sent along some of his work. We were gifted the painting of our choice. I love the rich colors he used in this. We hung the painting behind the bed in the guestroom with binder clips to see how it would look.
We want to have it framed, but with no glass. You can see the textured strokes and we don’t want to lose that with glass.
We think the painting goes well with the set of sheets we got that are really similar to what Sugar suggested. Her design is contemporary and modern which we like. We’re just adding little something to the board but hoping not to stray too far from her vision below.
The room is a mess and the bed isn’t made otherwise I’d show you what little we’ve done so far. We hope to have some progress to show you next week when the painting is framed and hung.
So, what do you think of the painting? Too much? Too far off the original style board?
